Charli xcx followed Brat, the biggest cultural moment of her career, by making its complete opposite on purpose. I sat down to watch Music, Fashion, Film knowing almost nothing about it. And then it ended, and I genuinely did not know what I had just watched. Nobody warned me. So I went looking for why — and what I found rearranged the entire album for me.
