No, we were not chased through Basel by a mammoth. Our trip to Basel, Switzerland, was actually pleasantly straightforward: exploring the old town, spending time beside the Rhine and visiting the Natural History Museum—where the mammoth provided considerably more drama for the thumbnail than it did for us.
