The Brabant!｜Horse Showcase/Update!

Hailing all the way from Belgium, the Brabants arrived at Jorvik's own Paddock Island on May 20th! These massive, lovable teddy bears stirred up the community quite a bit! I wanted to do a quick little showcase of SSO's newest horse addition because I haven't seen anyone do an in-depth one, and to hopefully help people get a better feel for the horse in-game! With that, I would like to admit that I was quite critical of them the moment Star Stable's official showcase dropped. I would go as far as to say I hated them and said with confidence that I wouldn't buy one... 😅 But look at how that turned out! Being able to see the horses in-game and people actually riding them around, they definitely didn't look as goofy as they did in the trailer! I still have my problems with some things, but I will be fair: these horses are absolutely gorgeous, and the team did an awesome job. In the trailer, I thought the Brabant seemed very snappy and almost "pony-ish", but in-game, they don't seem that way at all. Main complaints/criticisms are things that all happen during the animation of the gallop: – The back legs look rubbery. – They look like they stretch really far back and are a bit stiff. – The hocks look bulbous when coming back forward. – The left foreleg bends oddly at the forearm. – The back legs' feathers stretch out really far when coming down and make the cannon look really weird. Maybe thin or bent? – The head moves SO much. – It's literally whipping back and forth like Willow Smith's hair when she was nine. Extra complaints that don't pertain to the gallop: – The neck isn't round enough, in my personal opinion. – Some of the tack interacts with the horse in a really weird way. – Saddles and saddle pads are super stretched out. – All leg wraps are super stubby-looking. They definitely look better without leg wraps. 😅 – WTAF is that special animation??? Yoga?????? Like, what?? Likes/praises: – The overall model. – Literally gorgeous. – They're perfect. – I love the exploration of the feather physics. – The tail. – Beautiful blending. – Only complaint is that they're pretty stiff when going over a jump and coming down. – The coat colors. – I've seen quite a few people talking about the lack of diversity in the coat colors and types, but I actually love how limited they are! They're very true to the breed. – Grazing. – The grazing idle animation fits this horse sooo much! Anyway, I hope this was an adequate showcase!
