Effective Gravity and Earth Rotation

The rotation of the earth not only causes objects to have different weights at different latitudes (see my video    • Measure Earth’s Rotation by Tracking Weigh...  ), it even changes the direction of 'down' and the path of objects moving along the surface of earth (and up and down). In this video we look at the effect of the non-Newtonian forces: Centrifugal force and Coriolis force. We touch on the math and look at the effects on plumb bobs and moving objects.
