Both of these shows were recorded in audio and video format, intended for a full release at some point. Unfortunately, while these recordings were used for two different releases (first in November 2005 as a U2.com subscribers gift and later as part of the deluxe edition of "U218 Singles"), both versions use a mix of both nights and are heavily incomplete. For this reason alone, the audience recordings of both shows are valuable documents of the full performances, which are absolutely outstanding. While I'm not the biggest fan of this leg (the setlists offer the least amount of interesting and surprising choices compared to both American legs and 2006), it is absolutely undeniable that it's one of Bono's best overall tour legs. Just give tonight's "I Will Follow" a listen if you want a quick taste of what you can expect at this show. Talking about the setlist, since the band intended to film both shows entirely for a live release, they both feature the exact same setlist, which is an absolute bummer, as this tour is famous for its unique setlist changes. At least you get some nice choices, for example "All I Want Is You" (which was far from a main staple on this tour) in the main set and "Original of the Species", during which the band are joined by members of the Symphony Orchestra of the Carlo Coccia Theatre in Novara, Italy, which is a very nice treat. The encore performance of "Vertigo" includes some fun snippets, partially thanks to some R.E.M. members attending this concert.
