Troup vs. LaGrange highlights

What a night, and what a game. In the latest edition of the Troup vs. LaGrange rivalry, the fans at a packed Callaway Stadium were treated to one heck of a show. After LaGrange scored a touchdown with less than a minute to play, Troup made a stop on the two-point attempt to preserve a 22-20 victory. The Grangers fought back from a 22-7 deficit in the fourth quarter to get within two, but they came up just short. It was a big win for the Tigers (2-0) who remained unbeaten on the young season, while the Grangers (1-1) showed a lot of fight and came within one play of pushing the game to overtime. Javarris Warner had two touchdown runs for Troup, and quarterback Chase Mosley had one touchdown run. Javarris continued his torrid start to the season with 157 rushing yards, and he had 217 all-purpose yards. Chase Mosley threw for 91 yards and ran for 22 yards with a score. Jayden Trammell had a big game with two catches for 44 yards, and Davis Moncus had one catch for 26 yards. Senior kicker McCarty Harrelson had a huge hand in the victory with a 35-yard field goal, four punts for an average of 54 yards (including a 72-yarder), and all of his kickoffs went into the end zone for touchbacks. For LaGrange, the offensive star of the night was Peyton Davis, who had a monster game. Peyton ran for 227 yards on 22 carries (an average of 10.3 yards per attempt), and he also caught two passes. DeAnthony Stewart ran for 61 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. Quarterback Cason McGill, who really settled in as the game went along and played extremely well, completed 15-of-23 passes for 169 yards with two touchdowns, one to Wylan Lash, and the other to JD Render. Antonio Colton had four catches for 36 yards, and Jarrell Crosby and Riley Cockrell each had two catches. The Grangers finished the game with 457 yards. Both teams will be back in action next week at Callaway Stadium, with LaGrange facing Ola on Thursday, and Troup taking on Calhoun on Friday.
