St Helena Cup Saturday 10 10 2026 The 2026 RATU Rum St Helena Cup has concluded after a spectacular weekend of racing on Moreton Bay, with Concerto, Evolution and Shorty crowned overall winners of the coveted Division 1 Monohull PHS Teams St Helena Cup. Now in its 51st year, the iconic regatta attracted 88 boats and more than 500 participants from across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales, delivering two days of competitive racing, strong breezes, close tactical battles and unforgettable moments on the water. From the first start on Saturday to the final trophy presentation on Sunday afternoon, the St Helena Cup showcased everything that makes the event one of Queensland's most anticipated sailing regattas: skill, sportsmanship, determination, teamwork and camaraderie. St Helena Cup Champions The weekend's highest honour, the Division 1 Monohull PHS Teams - St Helena Cup, was awarded to: Concerto (Blair Harrison), Evolution (Mark Matthew) and Shorty (Michael Allen) Other Major Trophy Winners Division 1 Individual IRC (Hood Sails Trophy) – Trex Division 2 Trailer Sailer PHS Individual (30 ft Cup) – Cover to Cover Division 2 Cruising Teams (St Helena Cruising Division) - Abbraxus, Gecko and Raye Division 3 Multihull Teams (Ian Farrier Trophy) – Intrigue & Ritalin Classic Winner (Sea Tang Trophy) - Raye First Boats Across the Line Sunday's building breeze and dramatic finish produced impressive line honours performances across the divisions. In the Division 3 Multihull fleet, Rare Groove was first across the finish line, followed by Ritalin, Indian Chief and Day Spa. Among the Division 1 fleet, Wedgetail proved the fastest boat on the water, ahead of Brace Brace Brace and Trex. In Division 2, the Queensland Para Sailing Academy crossed first, followed by Cover to Cover and Carrera. What began as a forecast for light winds quickly transformed into ideal racing conditions. Sunshine, building breezes and colourful spinnakers provided a stunning backdrop for competition throughout the weekend, while Sunday's strengthening conditions saw boats powering towards the finish under full sail, heeling dramatically as crews fought for every second. Some crews elected to reef in the final mile as a storm built on the horizon and the breeze continued to rise. While trophies were awarded to the weekend's standout performers, organisers paid tribute to every skipper and crew who took part. Hosted by Wynnum Manly Yacht Club, the 2026 RATU Rum St Helena Cup once again demonstrated why it remains one of Australia's favourite bay racing events, bringing together sailors of all ages and abilities for a weekend of challenging racing and lasting friendships.
