The Andante | Kitchen, Dining & Pantry Tour with Jeff Wieland and Jillian Dowd Step inside the kitchen, dining area, and pantry of The Andante, Wieland Builders’ 26th Homearama home, as Jeff Wieland and designer Jillian Dowd share the design details and thoughtful features behind these highly functional entertaining spaces. The kitchen is anchored by an oversized quartzite island that provides plenty of room for gathering, dining, and everyday work. Throughout the space, careful attention was given to visual balance from the centered faucet and sink to the coordinated ceiling details, lighting, island, and prominent range hood. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry provides abundant storage while adding to the kitchen’s sophisticated look. Backlit glass doors create beautiful display areas, while paneled appliances help maintain a cohesive appearance. Wolf appliances and a Sub-Zero refrigerator were selected to combine performance, functionality, and a clean, integrated design. Comfort was also an important consideration. The counter stools were selected with long-term comfort in mind, featuring chair-like construction and supportive sinuous springs, perfect for lingering at the island with family and friends. Just beyond the kitchen, the dining area continues the home’s transitional style with a built-in hutch, formal dishware, vintage artwork, floral accents, linen draperies, and polished nickel hardware. A custom dining table made by Jona Custom Woods from a single piece of natural wood adds warmth and character, while the V-groove white oak ceiling and integrated LED lighting add another layer of architectural detail. The pantry serves as a convenient back kitchen, providing additional cabinetry, open shelving, appliances, and organizational storage for groceries and entertaining essentials. Pocket doors allow the space to be opened when needed or closed off to conceal everyday messes, an especially useful feature when hosting. From thoughtful organization to beautiful materials and carefully balanced design, the kitchen, dining area, and pantry were created to be both beautiful and highly livable.
