From 1 John 2, Pastor Massengale examines three truths God has given the believer in the battle against sin: An Aspiration — The new nature produces a genuine desire to please God and stay away from sin. An Advocate — When we sin, “we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” An Assurance — Obedience to God’s Word gives biblical evidence that we know Him and are walking in fellowship with Him. Sin destroys joy when it is excused, ignored, or covered.
