How I Repaired a Broken Riding Mower Rear Axle

It's payback time. Regular viewers would have seen Nick help me on a few occasions. Well, about a year ago, Nick bought a used riding mower & only used it once before he noticed a few issues, the main one being the broken rear axle. There was no way to retain the right rear wheel onto the axle so, on this episode, I repair the axle by boring the ends & welding in a high tensile bolt to replace the threads on the ends of the axle. As usual, the most expensive tool I'll be using on this project is a flux core mig welder so, anyone with a drill & a welder can do this...
