Continuing my Assetto Corsa Rally v0.6 Rally Events Gold medal hunt, this time heading to Monte Carlo with the legendary Audi Quattro for a Time Attack on La Bollène - Turini. The Quattro is very different from the rally cars I've been driving recently. Its long body, heavy front end and challenging handling through tight hairpins required a different approach. Surprisingly, the default setup worked really well, and despite a few small overshoots, the run turned out quite successful. 🇩🇪 Audi Quattro - A Different Driving Approach The Quattro's heavy nose requires careful braking and steering inputs, especially when entering tight corners. Compared with the cars I've driven recently, I had to adjust my approach and avoid overloading the front tires. Its long body also makes narrow Monte Carlo hairpins more challenging, particularly when trying to judge exactly where the car is positioned. 🔄 Right-Hand Hairpins - Limited Visibility One of my biggest difficulties was negotiating tight right-hand hairpins. Since I'm driving cockpit camera on a single TV, my view of the right side is limited. In some corners, I have to estimate the car's position almost blindly until the road becomes visible again on the exit. With the Quattro's length, judging those corners becomes even trickier. ⚙️ Default Setup - Surprisingly Planted Despite those challenges, the default setup performed surprisingly well. The Quattro felt planted and predictable throughout most of the stage. There were a couple of small overshoots, but nothing that seriously affected the run. Watching the replay from the outside might actually look a little boring because the car remained so stable. But that stability helped me maintain a competitive pace. 🌡️ Front Tire Overheating The Audi's heavy front end also affected tire temperatures. My driving approach wasn't perfectly adapted to the Quattro's weight distribution, and by the end of the stage, the front tires had overheated. This reduced the available front grip and made the car less responsive through tighter sections. If I return to chase a faster leaderboard time, improving front tire management will definitely be one of my priorities. 🌍 P15 on the World Leaderboard Despite the small overshoots, limited visibility in hairpins and overheating front tires, the run was good enough for P15 on the world leaderboard. A satisfying result considering everything was achieved with the default setup. And most importantly, another Gold medal secured! 📊 Run Summary 🎮 Game: Assetto Corsa Rally v0.6 🏁 Mode: Rally Events / Time Attack 🇫🇷 Location: Monte Carlo 🛣️ Stage: La Bollène - Turini 🚗 Car: Audi Quattro ⚙️ Setup: Default ⚖️ Main challenge: Heavy front end and long body 🔄 Difficult corners: Tight right-hand hairpins 📺 Visibility: Single-TV field of view 🌡️ Tires: Front overheating toward the finish ⚠️ Mistakes: A couple of small overshoots 🥇 Result: Gold 🌍 World leaderboard: P15 🎥 Camera: TV Replay & Onboard 📺 Resolution: 4K 🏆 Rally Events Progress 🥇 Gold: 175 🥈 Silver: 0 🥉 Bronze: 0 🎯 Total challenges: 238 🏁 Conclusion The Audi Quattro definitely required a different driving style.
