Welcome Sunday Service – 26th July 2026 - The Salvation Army Liverpool Walton

Welcome to this special Sunday Service as we welcome our new Church Leaders (or Corps Officers as we traditionally call them in The Salvation Army), Captains Callum and Berri McKenna. Today's service will be led by Major Ian Mountford, Divisional Commander of the North West & Isle of Man Division, who will officially install Callum and Berri as Corps Officers. We will also hear items from our musical sections, bible readings, testimony by Captain Callum, sermon from Captain Berri and some welcome talks from various members of our church. A message from Captains Berri McKenna and Callum McKenna: We are so delighted that from this Sunday we’ll be joining you as your Corps Officers. We count it a joy and a privilege to be joining such a vibrant expression of The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry, in a city we love. We’re coming to Liverpool Walton from 5 years on the staff at William Booth College and 7 years as the Corps Officers at Hythe in Kent. We come as a four - Between us, we enjoy good coffee, reading, Pokémon, running and Mario Kart…but you’ll need to guess which is which! Paul writes to the Church in Thessaloniki that “we were delighted to share not only the Gospel with you, but our lives also” (1 Thessalonians 2:8). That’s our prayer too in these days of transition: we’re excited to share the Gospel with you, in our worship, our discipleship, our service but we’re also really excited to share our lives with you too - for the Glory of God!
