4 Oct 2026 “Hello, how are you?” “I’m good.” “Sometimes well but never good.” That was what my Nanna always used to say. She may have been right in my case, but it is a common misconception for those who are followers of Jesus. I don’t know about you but the older I get the more I am aware of my sin. Why aren’t I done with it by now? Psalm 14 is a good reminder that without Jesus this is what we were. No righteousness, no salvation and no hope. But David, writing 1000 years before Jesus, did have hope. Hope that salvation would come from Zion, that the Lord would restore the fortunes of his people. Jesus is that hope and because of him, even though we are aware of our sin, we can rightly say that we are good. Clothed in his righteousness we are not just well, we are good.
