Hiking the Hall of Mosses Trail in the Hoh Rain Forest — one of the most magical short walks in Olympic National Park. Ancient bigleaf maples draped in thick curtains of moss, a lush green forest floor, and that classic Pacific Northwest rainforest atmosphere.
📍 Location: Hall of Mosses Trail, Hoh Rain Forest, Olympic National Park, Washington
🥾 Trail: Easy 0.8–1.1 mile loop starting near the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center
This short, flat loop is the perfect introduction to the Hoh. The moss-covered trees create an almost otherworldly feel, especially in soft morning light. It’s peaceful, photogenic, and unforgettable.
If you love temperate rainforests, easy nature walks, or Olympic National Park, the Hall of Mosses is a must-do.
