Mr. Flannigan supervises a group at SwRI that focuses on transitioning basic research to real-world automation solutions for industrial systems. Areas of expertise include sensing and perception, machine learning, robotic manipulation and mobility. Mr. Flannigan is involved in programs that include self-driving vehicles, some of the largest robots in the world, and robotic systems that are able to adapt to dynamic environments. He has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and has over 15 years of experience developing automation solutions.
