Russia and Ukraine are intensifying attacks on cargo ships in the Black Sea, disrupting one of the world's most important grain-export routes and raising fears over global food prices. The Turkish Chamber of Shipping says 163 vessels have been targeted this year, while shipowners say soaring war-insurance costs are making voyages increasingly difficult. Russia and Ukraine together account for around 27% of global wheat exports, much of it normally shipped through Black Sea and Sea of Azov ports. With wheat prices rising and grain storage facilities filling up ahead of new harvests, pressure is growing for a new agreement guaranteeing safe passage for commercial shipping. DW's Dorian Jones reports from Istanbul, where shipyards are repairing vessels damaged in the escalating economic battle between Russia and Ukraine. #dwcurrentaffairs #ukrainwar #grain For more news go to: http://www.dw.com/en/ Follow DW on social media: ►Instagram:   / dwnews   ►TikTok:   / dwnews   ►Facebook:   / deutschewellenews   ►Twitter:   / dwnews   ►Reddit:   / dwnews   Für Videos in deutscher Sprache besuchen Sie:    / dwdeutsch   Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/deutsche...
