We rode the Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad from Romney, West Virginia: a three-hour fall foliage train ride through the South Branch Potomac River trough, in Eagle Club service with a five-course meal. Did we see bald eagles? Was the club upgrade worth it? Is the whole trip worth the money? Here's our honest take. In this video: • Boarding at the Romney station • The open gondola car and why it has the best views of the trough • Hunting for bald eagle nests (and the eagle we missed during the cheese course) • Eagle Club service vs. regular seats • Our verdict on riding the Potomac Eagle in the fall ⏱ Chapters 0:00 At the Potomac Eagle RR station 0:19 Boarding the train 0:21 Walking through the club cars 0:50 Starting with Charcuterie 0:54 Chips and dip - spinach artichoke or salmon dip 0:56 Goat cheese and honey on a baguette 1:02 Dessert 1:05 Scenic West Virginia 1:20 Entering the trough 1:54 How the gondola car works 2:46 Looking for Eagle Nests! 2:55 We spotted an eagle nest! 3:28 Crossing Sycamore Bridge 3:38 Back at the station.
