Great Britain 1972 World Cup reunion

On November 11, 2022, Rugby League Cares reunited eight of the 10 surviving members of Great Britain’s 1972 World Cup-winning team. On a memorable night at Elland Road, the World Cup winners came together 50 years to the day since Clive Sullivan hoisted the World Cup trophy in Lyon. The players received a rousing reception from the crowd at the Australia v New Zealand semi-final when they were led onto the pitch at half-time by Clive’s wife, Ros. The eight players - Paul Charlton, David Jeanes, Brian Lockwood, Phil Lowe, Dennis O’Neill, George Nicholls, David Redfearn, Mike Sullivan - had a fantastic evening been hosted by RLWC2021 and John Ledger from Rugby League Cares.
