The Bass Bite Was BRUTAL… I Had to Change Everything

The bass bite has been TOUGH lately, and this trip was no different. After getting skunked over and over, I finally started finding bass — but they were scattered all over the lake and they definitely didn't want to cooperate. I caught 4 bass from 4 different spots, and every single fish came on a different lure. With the late-summer heat and humidity, a slow bite, and virtually no topwater action, I had to constantly change my approach and figure out what the bass wanted. This is a perfect example of why sometimes you have to stop looking for the "magic lure" and start figuring out what the fish are doing.
