Guru Utsava 2026||Dr. K. L. Shankaranarayana Jois

Honouring a Lifetime of Recovering the Unity of Knowledge: Dr. K. L. Shankaranarayana Jois INDICA had the privilege of felicitating Dr. K. L. Shankaranarayana Jois founder of Bharati Yogadhama, as part of #Grateful2Gurus 2026. A Sanskrit scholar, yoga teacher, author, and teacher for over four decades, Dr. Jois has devoted his life to recovering and transmitting the integrated vision of the Ārṣa Vidyās. Through his scholarship and teaching, he has consistently demonstrated that Yoga, Vedānta, Āyurveda, Jyotiṣa and other Vidyās are not isolated disciplines, but interconnected ways of knowing and experiencing reality. Although Dr. Jois was unable to join the Guru Utsava celebrations in Delhi NCR on Guru Pūrṇimā, INDICA had made a saṅkalpa to personally honour every Guru who could not be present. We were therefore deeply honoured to felicitate him in the presence of his family, śiṣyas and well-wishers. For INDICA, Grateful2Gurus is not merely an annual honour. It is an offering of gratitude to those who preserve, embody and transmit the knowledge traditions of India.
