My Filipina Friend Cooked Chicken TINOLA for My Family in Latvia 🇵🇭🇱🇻 My Mom’s First Reaction!

My Filipina friend came all the way to Latvia… and somehow ended up cooking Chicken Tinola in my mom’s kitchen 🇵🇭🇱🇻🥹 I honestly don’t think any of my friends has ever come to my family home and cooked a whole meal for us before, so this felt extra sweet and special. ❤️ Thank you, ‪@VanessaSedaya‬ for bringing a little piece of the Philippines into our Latvian home. Of course, my mom had to try Tinola for the very first time! 😄 I’m also pretty sure this was the first time my family ever had ginger in chicken soup, so I was really curious about their reaction. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the completely authentic version because here in Latvia it’s not so easy to find sayote, malunggay or green papaya for cooking. So this is definitely not 100% the same Tinola you would normally eat in the Philippines. 🇵🇭 But at least my family could get an idea of the flavor and understand what this comforting Filipino soup is all about. ❤️ And honestly, Tinola feels like the PERFECT soup when you’re cold, tired or getting sick.
