STAHLKOCHER - Eisenhimmel | Maschinenliturgie (2026) | Industrial Metal Music Album

Eisenhimmel / Iron Sky STAHLKOCHER was formed in Duisburg in 2022 by musicians from the Ruhr industrial and dark-rock underground. The project grew out of rehearsals in a converted warehouse near the old steel districts, where heavy guitars, mechanical rhythms, analogue electronics and found-metal percussion gradually developed into a single austere sound. The name STAHLKOCHER – an old term for steelworkers involved in the smelting process – became central to the group’s identity. From the beginning, the band was interested less in industrial imagery for its own sake than in the relationship between the individual and the systems surrounding him: labour, authority, family, ideology, consumption and collective discipline. Steel, concrete, smoke, ritual and the human body became recurring elements of their language. During 2023 and 2024 the group developed its first material and gradually moved away from a conventional metal-band format toward a more theatrical form of industrial rock. By 2025 the permanent sound of STAHLKOCHER had taken shape: low-register male vocals, heavily down-tuned guitars, rigid mid-tempo grooves, electronic sequences, metallic percussion, choral layers and occasional slower, almost ceremonial passages. Recorded independently during 2025–2026, “Maschinenliturgie” became the group’s first full-length album. The record was conceived as a collection of independent scenes rather than a continuous narrative, united by the idea of the human being gradually reduced to a function, a resource or a material within larger social structures. Its sound combines Neue Deutsche Härte, industrial metal, dark electronics, martial rhythms and monumental choral arrangements while retaining a deliberately cold and restrained production style. “Maschinenliturgie” was completed independently by STAHLKOCHER in 2026. Megapolis Records subsequently released the album and handled its distribution to streaming platforms.
