A9-古琴指法 guqin fingering：曲四；撥剌，抓起；三位一體認知減字譜字符 (Etude 4; bo la; zhuaqi; Trinity of jianzipu character)

This video is the instruction on Etude Four 曲四 in Yu Shuishan Guqin Etudes 于水山古琴練習曲集. This etude focuses on the fingerings of bo and la, using the right hand three fingers to pluck two strings simultaneously inward and outward, as well as zhuoqi 抓起, the use of left hand thumb to produce open string musical sound. This video also explains the significance of what I call the “Trinity of jianzipu character” 減字譜字符的三位一體認知, which refers to the simultaneous recognition of the character (visual), understand the reading pronunciation of the character (acoustic), and the actual performance fingering on the instrument dictated by the character (practical fingering application).
