"Trunkles" in the Wheatley tradition Summertown Morris are a women’s Cotswold Morris side formed in Autumn 2011. We dance in a number of traditions from the Oxfordshire villages of Ascott-under-Wychwood, Wheatley, and Ducklington. If anyone is interested in dancing with us or coming along for a practice please get in touch – experience is welcome but not compulsory, and we’d love to see you. Our dancers are female, but while we have musicians of all genders we are not currently recruiting musicians. We practice every Monday evening from 8pm – 9pm at the Cherwell School, and are welcoming new dancers throughout October 2024 – if you want to join at a different time of year, please get in contact and we’ll let you know when to come along. We keep up-to-date practice information on our social media pages: www.facebook.com/summertownmorris and www.instagram.com/summertownmorris Drop us a message on Facebook or Instagram or email us on summertown.morris@gmail.com. Oxford Folk Festival 2025: 11-13th April The Oxford Folk Festival is a small but lively and inclusive grass-roots festival, which takes place annually over a weekend in April. It is largely free to visitors, and it exists to celebrate folk music and dance, and those who perform it, in every possible form. Much of the entertainment is provided by enthusiasts from Oxford and Oxfordshire but we welcome participants from anywhere in the UK or beyond.
