Cutting Open Dugway Geodes [UT]

In this video, I’m cutting open two Dugway geodes from Utah! If you have never seen one before, you’re in for a treat. Dugway geodes formed millions of years ago in ancient volcanic ash beds. They’re famous for their bumpy grayish outsides and (sometimes!) hollow insides lined with quartz crystals. Every one is a mystery until you slice it open. I clean them up, take them to the saw, and reveal what’s inside, and one of them had such a nice surprise that I couldn’t resist taking it to the cab machine for a quick polish. Cutting, revealing, and polishing geodes? That’s pretty much a perfect day in my book. #Geodes #DugwayGeodes #GeodeCutting #QuartzCrystals #Cabbing #LapidaryLife #Rockhounding #GeodeReveal #RockPolishing #RockinRobin
