Drumochter Four Jan 2026

A testing day out on the set of four munros at Drumochter pass. The hike starts from the north end at Balsporran Cottage and ascends the route in an anti clockwise direction. The walk takes in Gael-Charn, A Mharchonich, Beinn Udlamain, and Sgairneach Mhor before descending to the A9 and returning to the start point. The weather forecast predicted great weather but that did not materialise. The conditions remained testing all day with dense fog, spindrift , strong gusty winds and poor visibility. I was also trying out a new camera, Acepro2, and used a wind guard and selected the wind cancellation mode. Unfortunately the audio quality was very poor due to the invasive wind gusts.
