Sonic Mania Plus: Mania Mode Part 10: Lava Reef Zone (Super Knuckles)

Even after adding two more characters to Sonic Mania Plus, Knuckles here still gets his own route in Lava Reef Act 2 that takes advantage of his gldining and climbing abilities. His unique Act 2 boss of this zone not against Heavy Rider, but Heavy King, himself. When Knuckles spots that King is trying to steal his Master Emerald from the Hidden Palace, he remembers the last time Eggman did that, and finally has the brain to knock King away from it. Nonetheless, Heavy King makes like Mecha Sonic did in Sky Sanctuary, and instead use the Master Emerald power up his attacks. This time, however, you can attack him while he's powered-up. ---------- Knuckles already had an Outro from this level in Sonic Mania. He uses a teleporter, but this time, the teleporter quickly takes him to Metallic Madness on Little Planet. ---------- Also, apparently, those "Super Emeralds" there aren't actually the burned-out Super Emeralds. They're just stone replicas of the real ones.
