Eaton Fire: Yu Family Rebuilds With $200K

The incredible bond and strong connection firefighters experience, whether they know one another personally or not, is inspiring. Chien Yu, an Engineer with the Pasadena Fire Department, and his family are blown away by how readily firefighters from the Los Angeles City Fire Department and Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund embraced them after they lost their home in the devastating Eaton Fire. Watch as they share their story and receive an unexpected $200,000 gift by the charity, courtesy of a generous donation by the J.M. Eagle Foundation. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity founded more than a century ago, our organization is dedicated to helping the families of LAFD firefighters facing a serious crisis, such as being injured or killed in the line of duty. The needs of firefighters are unique because the profession poses many dangers and consequences. Thanks to kind and generous contributions, the WODFF makes a significant impact, providing assistance with items such as basic living expenses, health insurance premiums, durable medical equipment, and awarding memorial scholarships to children of firefighters who died while active duty. #EatonFire #LAFD #PasadenaFireDepartment #Firefighters #FirefighterFamily #FirefighterBrotherhood #WildfireRecovery #AltadenaStrong #FirefightersHelpingFirefighters #GiveToAHero #FirefighterCharity #LosAngeles
