Let It Pour. Black Cats Moody Vintage Noir Jazz in a Lamplit Room over the Rainy City

Welcome to a lamplit hotel lounge looking out over a rainy old city. Behind the band, tall windows frame Gothic spires, steep rooftops and rows of amber windows, with rain running down the glass. Inside it is dry and quiet: a heavy curtain, a carved stone pillar, a doorway glowing orange, and a small round table holding a brass lamp and a black cup of coffee. The black cats stand in a row on the wooden floor in matching wine red knit hats. From the left: upright bass, sax, acoustic guitar, a small vintage keyboard, and drums. Early on, one hat slides down over a pair of eyes, and the music never stops. The tunes are slow and unhurried, mostly soft ballads that take their time. The drums stay light in the background, nothing ever speeds up or gets loud, and the volume stays level from the first track to the last. Let it play while you sort through email, fill in a spreadsheet, write, read, or sit with a slow hour and a cup of coffee. It holds one steady pace and stays out of your way. Business owners: you are welcome to play this set in your cafe, shop, bakery, bookstore, salon or waiting room. It brings a little of that rainy window calm indoors and never gets in the way of conversation. There is no wrong hour for this one. Morning, midday or late, the rain keeps tapping on the glass and the cats keep the tunes coming. If you are new here, this is what the black cats do: original instrumental jazz with no vocals, played somewhere new each time. Every tune in the list below has a timestamp, so you can jump straight to the one you like.
