Lyrics: The evening settles softly on the road, I walk beneath the weight I always hold. The stars grow faint, the hills turn grey, Yet still I find another way. A distant song begins to fade, A promise kept, a choice once made. I cannot see what waits ahead, So on I walk where roads are led. Raise up the lantern, let it shine, Through every shadow, every winding line. The night may linger, cold and long, But dawn will bring another song. The Flame may flicker low, May hide its warmth beneath the snow. I need not know where roads will lead, I only need the strength to proceed. There are days when hearts forget their song, And nights when every road feels long. Yet underneath the fading grey, A quiet ember waits for day. I stop and gaze into the sky, Then smile although I can't say why. Perhaps the road will show me when, Perhaps I'll understand it then. Raise up the lantern, let it shine, Through every shadow, every winding line. The night may linger, cold and long, But dawn will bring another song. The Flame may flicker low, May hide its warmth beneath the snow. I need not know where roads will lead, I only need the strength to proceed. And if the road should twist and turn, And if the distant lantern burns, I'll keep my steps beneath the stars, For even journeys leave their scars. And if the night should hide the way, I'll trust the coming of the day. For roads may wander, hearts may bend, But every night must find its end. Raise up the lantern, let it shine, Through every shadow, every winding line. The night may linger, cold and long, But dawn will bring another song. The Flame may flicker low, May hide its warmth beneath the snow. I need not know where roads will lead, I only need the strength to proceed. So let the old road wind along, Let every mile become a song. The dawn will come, as dawn has done, And I will walk to meet the sun.
