Where does your food go after you swallow it? 🍎 Lots of people think it drops into a tummy behind the belly button, and goes from there to the legs. In this longer lesson for kids aged 8 to 11, we follow a bite of apple through a see-through body: chew it, swallow it, watch the stomach squeeze it into soup, push it along the small intestine to see where the goodness goes, stretch the small intestine out beside a car, zoom in on the villi, and time the whole trip. Pause and guess at each question, then try the quiz at the end! ▶ Try it yourself, free: https://nowiseewhy.com/digestion?from... An interactive 3D lesson for ages 5–11, with a Grown-ups level too. No accounts, and no ads in the lessons. The small intestine passes the goodness from food into your blood, which carries it all round your body. Laid out straight, a grown-up’s small intestine is about 6 metres long, and the whole trip usually takes one to three days. Got a "why" question?
