FROM ONE BEGINNING TO A LEGACY THAT KEEPS GROWING Every great institution begins with a vision. Ours began in 1978. What started as Bereton Early Years was more than the establishment of a school. It was the beginning of a journey centred on developing people, nurturing potential and creating opportunities for generations to come. In 1983, the journey grew with the establishment of Bereton Primary School, expanding our commitment to laying strong foundations for children as they learned, discovered and began to understand the world around them. Then, in 1991, Bere-Mont emerged, marking another significant chapter in our story and giving form to a broader vision of education, development and impact. By 2006, that vision had grown further with the establishment of Charles Dale Memorial International School. With a focus on preparing young people for a changing and increasingly connected world, Charles Dale became another important expression of the Bere-Mont commitment to excellence, character, opportunity and global exposure. In 2017, Bereton Secondary School added another dimension to the journey, creating a pathway for learners to continue developing academically, socially and personally within the Bereton tradition. And in 2023, we began Camp Global; extending learning beyond the traditional classroom through immersive experiences in culture, creativity, innovation, leadership and global exposure. Six milestones. One evolving story. Generations of learners. Countless lives touched. As we celebrate 35 years of Bere-Mont, we are reminded that an institution is not defined only by the buildings it has constructed, the programmes it has created or the years it has existed. It is defined by the people it has developed, the lives it has influenced and the possibilities it has opened for those who have passed through its doors. From the early years learner taking those first steps into education, to the young person preparing to take their place in the world, our journey has always been about more than education. It has been about developing people. It has been about helping children discover who they are, what they can become and how they can contribute meaningfully to the world around them. It has been about creating environments where knowledge is accompanied by character, where curiosity is encouraged, where talent is nurtured and where young people are given the opportunity to spread their wings. Our story has also been shaped by the people behind the journey; our founders, leaders, educators, administrators, parents, partners, alumni and, most importantly, the generations of learners who have made Bere-Mont what it is today. They are the reason our story continues. As we look back at 1978, 1983, 1991, 2006, 2017 and 2023, we do not simply see dates on a timeline. We see roots. Roots that have grown deeper with every generation. Roots that have sustained an institution through changing times. Roots that have allowed new ideas, new programmes, new schools and new possibilities to emerge. And now, those roots continue to give us the strength to spread our wings. Our journey is far from over. The future calls us to embrace new technologies, new approaches to learning, new opportunities for our learners and new ways of creating impact. It calls us to remain faithful to the values that brought us this far while having the courage to evolve with the world around us. This is what “Roots to Wings” means to us. It is a celebration of where we began. It is a reflection on how far we have come. And it is a commitment to where we are going. For 35 years, we have been developing people, transforming lives and building a legacy that continues into the future.
