The Vivekananda Reddy murder case has taken a fresh turn, with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issuing notices to Kadapa YSRCP MP YS Avinash Reddy. The ED has directed him to appear for questioning at its Hyderabad office on October 14. The ED is investigating the financial transactions and alleged money-laundering angle connected to the murder case. A major focus of the investigation is the alleged ₹40 crore deal linked to the murder. The agency is reportedly examining where the money was supposed to come from, who may have arranged the funds, and how the financial transactions were carried out. The ED is also looking into the alleged ₹4 crore advance paid to individuals accused of involvement in the murder. As part of its investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the agency has been examining bank transactions and movement of funds involving accused and suspected individuals since 2019. The ED has already questioned several people in connection with the case, including approver Dastagiri and other accused persons such as Yerragonda Gangi Reddy, Sunil Yadav and Umashankar Reddy. Earlier, the ED conducted searches at multiple locations in Hyderabad and Kadapa. During the searches, officials reportedly seized ₹24 lakh in unaccounted cash from Avinash Reddy’s residence, along with locker keys and documents. The latest notice to Avinash Reddy is reportedly based on evidence gathered during previous searches and information obtained while questioning other individuals. The ED is expected to seek details regarding financial transactions and movement of funds before and after Vivekananda Reddy’s murder.
