Voltage-Based-Timing measurement, or VTM, indicates that the voltage of a medium voltage switchgear in service is used to detect the state of the main contacts.
The easiest way to do this is to use the Voltage Detection System, or VDS, of the switchgear.
In this video, Andreas Nenning, OMICRON product manager of the CIBANO 500, shows how this is done:
00:00 - Introduction
01:16 - How to connect to the VDS interface with the circuit breaker test set
02:54 - How to accurately measure the states of the main contacts
03:49 - How to record the voltages of the primary conductors and how to get the calculated operation times.
