How Luke Solved the Jedi’s Unwinnable Trap

At the end of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker is placed in an unwinnable situation, a catch 22. Whatever Luke decides he will lose his father Anakin Skywalker. If he listens to the Jedi or to the Sith (the Emperor) way of thinking. This is a classic fairy tale and hero's journey setup. But then Luke does something that no one expects and saves the galaxy. Here George Lucas's genius and to be fair, extremely keen understanding of the fine print of the Hero's Journey comes into play.
