Ross & Snow Goose Hunting - The Fastest Limit We've Ever Seen

Some hunts are good and some hunts are the kind you talk about for years. This was one of those hunts. Manny has spent years guiding waterfowl hunters and following the migration across North America, and after seeing thousands of hunts unfold, this was the fastest Ross and Snow Goose limit he, and I as our filmer, have ever witnessed. And it wasn't just how quickly we finished. It was how the birds did it. We had been watching this field for a couple days. While finishing an afternoon goose hunt nearby, we watched the field load up that evening and immediately knew there were the right birds in it. We just needed the conditions to line up. A couple days later, they did. With Moby and Manny guiding, Jack along to help keep up with the action, and our clients ready for whatever the morning brought, we set up and waited. What followed was one of the most incredible spectacles of Ross Goose decoying we have ever seen. Flocks were coming from long distances and dropping vertically into the spread. Birds were spinning, flipping, crossing over one another, and working through the decoys in multiple layers. Flocks crossed paths in the air, sometimes with one group working directly through another. The aggression and determination of these birds to get into the spread was something you have to see to believe. The volleys came fast. The birds came faster. Before we really had time to process what was happening, we were finished with a full limit. It was one of those mornings where everyone in the blind knew they had just witnessed something special. This is what makes Saskatchewan fall goose hunting so incredible. There are places where you can hunt Ross and Snow Geese, but there are very few places where you can experience this kind of volume, aggression, and decoying all at once. For the clients in the blind, it was an experience they won't soon forget. For Manny, after years of guiding and following these birds across North America, it was one of the most remarkable hunts he has ever been a part of.
