The Bill of Rights is not merely a list of amendments—it is a line drawn around government power. This song gives voice to the freedoms of speech, press, religion, assembly, petition, security, due process, jury trial, and rights retained by the people.
Ratified in 1791, the first ten amendments answered a central founding fear: even a government created by the people could become dangerous unless specific liberties were placed beyond its easy reach. The Ninth and Tenth Amendments add a crucial principle—the written list does not exhaust the people’s rights, and federal power is delegated rather than inherent.
Versewell weaves public-domain amendment language into a new lyric structure with original connective lines, chorus, melody, arrangement, recording, and visuals.

Which amendment would you choose to explain to a young person first—and why?
