In this video, I put Moldboxer to the test by taking a simple model all the way from digital design to a finished bronze-effect cast.
First, I walk through the basics of Moldboxer and show how it simplifies the mold design process. From there, I 3D print the mold components, assemble the mold, and pour silicone to create the final production mold.
Once the silicone mold is ready, I create a polyurethane resin cast and finish the piece with a bronze patina effect to achieve a rich metallic appearance.
In this video:
Overview of Moldboxer and its workflow
Designing a mold from a simple model
3D printing the mold components
Silicone mold making process
Polyurethane resin casting
Bronze patina finishing techniques
My thoughts on using Moldboxer
If you're interested in mold making, resin casting, 3D printing, or digital manufacturing workflows, this video should give you a good look at what Moldboxer can do and where it fits into the production process.
