Sekiro: Isshin the Sword Saint: Safe Strategy

After almost giving up on the game due to me failing to get Isshin's timing right, I finally found a strategy that can help others that are having a hard time beating Isshin. Gear Requirement: Spiral Spear, Ceremonial Tanto and Divine Confetti ( Optional ) 1) First kill Genichiro...shouldn't be too hard so I'm gonna skip that part 2) Isshin 1st Phase: Use Spiral Spear by holding R2 to keep pressure on him since this is the phase that gave me the most trouble 3) Isshin 2nd Phase: This and the final phase are more manageable in my opinion since he uses a jump attack which lives him open to a sword lunge....there are other attacks that leave him vulnerable but the jump is more consistent and safe...keep your distance, run all the time and be careful not to fall off the cliff or get stuck in the scenery 4) Isshin Final Phase: Same strategy as the 2nd phase but he will start using new lightning based attacks although if you keep your distance while keeping your health topped up, it shouldn't be a problem...if you have enough spirit emblems or top them up with the Ceremonial Tanto, you can start using Spiral Spear again to end the battle faster although it's purpose is mostly for the 1st form Hope this helps people like me who suck at countering Isshin's strikes
