Ricoh GR III POV 8 Street Photography - Snap Focus

In my previous Street Photography YouTube video using my Ricoh GR III, I went with the traditional point and shoot process of depressing the shutter half-way to focus, then full press to release the shutter, as with any camera. However, shooting like this completely negates the entire point of purchasing the Ricoh GR III (or any Ricoh camera). The biggest advantage of this camera is the Snap Focus feature, which allows you to use the settings that you want, but everything in the frame is in focus. The Specific Setup and Settings After a few attempts at trial and error, I decided that my go-to setup with Snap Focus on the Ricoh GR III is a minimum shutter speed of around 1/320, with an aperture at f9, Auto ISO (max of 6400) and my snap focus distance to 2 meters. Based on these settings, I should be able to shoot confidently knowing that everything from about 1 meter (3 feet) to infinity is going to be sharp. That's a difficult concept for a 'traditional' photographer to grasp. I'm used to pointing, half-depressng the shutter release button to focus and check settings, then full press of the shutter release button to capture the moment. As I stated above, it took me several attempts and some practice to grasp the concept of Snap Focus, but once I figured it out (and built the trust that I wasn't wasting frames that will possibly be out of focus) I have a much better understanding, and appreciation for my Ricoh GR III and how powerful a tool it can be with Snap Focus. You can shoot this way with any mirrorless camera by manually setting the lens to appropriate distance for a given aperture. But this method is far from reliable, and you have to estimate the distance by focusing on an object in the real world, then HOPE your focus ring/mode doesn't change from shot to shot.
