Ukraine built a drone that doesn't care if its signal dies. Meet Thor Hammer

‪@WesODonnellX‬ breaks down Ukraine's newly unveiled "Thor Hammer" strike drone built by defence firm SkyFall. Capable of flying as far as 600 kilometers and carrying up to 50 kilograms of explosives, this cutting-edge middle-range drone is designed to deliver crushing blows using AI guidance—all for a price tag of just £19,000 to £23,000. Wes explores how Thor Hammer's 3.5-meter wingspan, 180 km/h speed, and resilient guidance system allow it to keep flying and finish its mission even when satellite or radio connections are cut. 00:00 - Thor Hammer – Ukraine’s autonomous strike drone 00:40 - Thor Hammer debut and early Starlink problems 01:22 - Thor Hammer variants, capabilities, and price 02:25 - Guidance architecture: GPS, inertial, and backup layers 03:41 - Mission sequence: live video, human approval, AI guidance 04:52 - Starshield speed caps and vulnerability of drone links 06:25 - Middle‑strike strategy and Thor Hammer’s battlefield impact 08:14 - Live video, kill‑chain integration, and mass production 12:23 - Resilience to dead links defines Thor Hammer’s design 13:27 - Outro The Sun brings you breaking news and in-depth analysis on the stories that matter most.
