Roan Highlands SB6K

The South Beyond 6000 challenge officially begins. I've hiked some of these peaks before, but this trip marks the official start of my SB6K journey. To kick things off, I headed to the Roan Highlands to summit three iconic SB6K peaks: Grassy Ridge Bald, Roan High Knob, and Roan High Bluff. Route: I began at Carvers Gap, following the Appalachian Trail to Roan High Knob. From there, I took the Roan High Knob Trail to the summit before returning to the Appalachian Trail and continuing to the Cloudland Trail for the climb to Roan High Bluff. After returning to Carvers Gap via the Appalachian Trail, I headed out one final time on the Grassy Ridge Trail to summit Grassy Ridge Bald before returning to Carvers Gap to finish the day.
