This is what it looks like to drive through a blizzard when you can’t see past the hood.
Recorded in Mackinaw City, Michigan on March 15, 2026 during Winter Storm Iona, this drive begins at Jamet Street and continues south on I-75 toward US-31.
At this point in the storm, snowfall was heavy, winds were strong, and visibility was effectively zero. The road itself had disappeared under several inches of snow. There were no visible lane markings—only reflector posts on the sides of the highway.
That’s what I drove by.
Yellow reflectors on the left. White reflectors on the right. That was the lane.
Speeds dropped to around 20 mph. The car was constantly searching for traction. Small corrections were happening continuously just to stay aligned. There were no safe places to stop. No clear exits. Just forward.
This is the kind of driving that demands complete focus—there’s no autopilot here.
I drove up to northern Michigan specifically for this storm. And this was just the beginning.
