Unused track being rebuilt in Providence, RI - 12/2024

Earlier this week I went to check out some tracks being rebuilt in Providence, RI. One track, rarely used and only for MOW use and an adjacent unused track are being rebuilt. They are on the spur that once ran to the Turnkey Post Office when they used rail in the 1960's as well as another customer that received steel shipments. As part of the rebuilding they are building two tracks into an area where prefabricated turnouts were being put together and it looks like they will either form a run around or two stub ends, most likely for MOW use. Both tracks seem to already be mostly constructed but time will tell what the final layout will be so I'll be back to check on that. Stay tuned for an update!
