It encapsulates many of the things I hate in games. Your loot and equipment can be lost in an instant, it's very competitive, and it's very unforgiving. Yet somehow, I actually like it a lot. Even the notorious "Lose Everything Factory," Cryo Archive, has become a source of engaging gameplay for me. While I was initially hooked simply by a stunning art style, what I found was much more. Today I'd like to discuss how, against all odds, Sony's riskiest bet became one of my favorite games of the year; and how it pushed me to risk my life blending and drinking a cheeseburger.
