सरसों का धौलिया कीट (8) by Dr R K Saini.Painted Bug#Bagrada#Mustard

Painted bug of mustard is a serious pest of Brassica species. Crop at the seedling stage is most severely affected. Due to feeding by this insect, white necrotic spots appear on the leaves. When pest populations are high the leaves wither fast and the plants die. Sometimes, the damage is so high that re-sowing of the crop may be necessitated. The pest also sucks sap from the pods and the developing grains inside, causing poor grain development. Spray of systemic insecticides within 15 days of sowing can protect the crop from damage by this pest.
