Electro-optic Modulators: Transferring Data Between Electrical/Optical Solvers

This video demonstrates how to transfer data between Lumerical's electrical and optical solvers. The focus is on how to use some of the new features introduced in the 2013b and 2013c releases, specifically for simulating electro-optic modulators. These new features includes charge/carrier monitors in DEVICE, as well as new grid attribute objects for reading data from DEVICE monitors into the optical solvers. This is a significant improvement over the previous import options, and allows one to simulate large 3D active components, such as interleaved PN junction microrings and photonic crystal waveguide modulators.
