• LATIN KANKAARIYA | Scene 1 • As the title of the song suggests Latin Kankaariya is an attempt to pair two opposing artforms. The song challenges conventional Sinhala musical composition, both in lyrics and music. Latin Kankaariya is a song sung from the perspective of a woman who is describing her struggle with her lover. She agonises over his lack of faithfulness, his deceit and his disrespect. This will be the second project since our inception. We learnt from our previous mistakes, made new ones and, are evolving as creatives every day we operate as a unit! A big thank you to our vendors who worked tirelessly to make our vision ignite into the flame that you see today. Thank you for watching and engaging in our work. We want to continue to produce pieces such as these so we inspire ourselves to never stop doing what we do. It's so much fun and we get better and better everytime we try.
