LPU में डंडा लेकर Girls Hostel का रूम कौन खुलवाना चाहता था? Student Protest

Violence, stone-pelting and vandalism broke out at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara, Punjab, on two straight nights, 26 and 27 September. Shops at the UNI Mall inside the campus were looted. The administrative block and hostel buildings were damaged. Classes are suspended for 10 days, and many students are leaving the campus with their belongings. Police are now patrolling the campus to rebuild students' confidence. Our ground report from inside the LPU campus asks some key questions. How did outsiders get into the campus carrying swords, sticks and rods? Who had the walkie-talkie? Why did the violence go on for almost two hours? Police say the walkie-talkie belonged to army officers who had come to check on their children's safety. Police say an FIR has been registered and a high-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed. They say CCTV footage is being examined and anyone involved will face action under the law. According to police, students' grievances against the university administration, including a demand for only lady staff in girls' hostels, were addressed through talks. But the FIR count has not been disclosed. There is also no clear information yet on action against those who threw stones at the police.
