THE AUTUMN TIDY UP BEGINS | PREPARING THE BEDS FOR NEXT YEAR ON OUR 1 ACRE KITCHEN GARDEN!

Autumn is well and truly arriving in our 1 acre kitchen garden here in Herefordshire! 🍂 With most of the summer crops having gone over, it's time to start the autumn tidy up and prepare our beds for the months ahead. In this video, we're clearing away the last of the summer growth, spreading a lovely layer of leaf mould and manure across the beds and thinking about how we can make even more of our garden's resources. I'm also contemplating investing in a garden shredder so we can start producing our own green mulch from all the prunings and garden waste. It would be wonderful to create more of our own organic matter and keep building the soil naturally. But it's not quite the end of the harvest just yet! We're still picking the last of our tomatoes and we've started harvesting our beautiful leeks, which always feel like one of the real rewards of growing through the seasons.
